Art Scarves • December 5th • 5 – 8:00 pm

Come join us for a unique experience of water marbling and paint your own silk scarf. Our guest instructor is Kim Strzykalski from K.M.S. Art located in East Troy.

Water Marbling is an ancient art form called Suminagashi or “floating ink”. It began in Japan during the 10th century. Artist blowing on water created designs in black and gray tones. Later around the 15th century another form of marbling was created in Turkey and Pursia called Ebru or “clouds on water”. The use of thickened water, colored pigments and tools were used to create different patterns and designs. Ebru is the art form we will be using to create beautiful scarves with thickened water and paint. You will pick out your favorite colors, drop paint on water, use tools to create a one-of-a-kind design and transfer your creation to a silk scarf. This fun and unique process will result in the perfect one of a kind gift for yourself or someone you love this Christmas! Bring your inner artist and have fun!

We will offer three sessions at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. We will have room for six participants in each hour. The cost per scarf is $45. You must be registered to secure your spot by Tuesday, November 6th. We need a minimum of 12 participants to hold this class. Payments will be returned if not enough participants are secured. If time permits participants may be able to make a second scarf for $33.
